Wahkohtowin Strengthening Families Program

Wahkohtowin is a strength-based skill-building program that works with youth ages 11-17 along with their families/support circles to increase communication, decrease conflict, connect with culture, and increase bonding.

Wahkohtowin is now offering weekly online sessions through Google Meets, Zoom, Facebook Live, and other platforms that youth and their families use at home! Families will be provided a tablet and support accessing Wi-Fi is available, if needed, to ensure no barriers to participation. Youth and their parents will have an opportunity to connect with mentors weekly both one-on-one, and as a family to learn and discuss each week’s lesson.

The program provides wrap-around support to families through mentorship, support in accessing important health information, resources for youth, advocacy and referrals to additional supports outside of regularly scheduled programming.  Weekly groceries and meals will be provided to families.

Upcoming Session:

Session 12: Weekly online sessions beginning Monday, May 18, 2020 to August 2020.
