Restorative Justice and Community Service

The Spence Neighbourhood Association believes that every youth should have a chance to rebuild trust and repair harms that they may have caused within the youth program and CIYO project.

Cultural Outreach Workers support youth who have experienced behaviour issues to complete restorative justice hours in order to return to the youth program.

Cultural Outreach Workers also work with youth to complete their court ordered community service hours.

To complete their hours, youth may participate in manual work, bullying/addictions workshops, prepare apologies, or work on their goals.  Half of their hours are also spent talking to their Cultural Outreach Worker to identify the cause of the behaviour and to create a prevention plan.
