2015 Community Events
We had a great turn out at our Annual General Meeting! Some highlights of the evening were electing two new board members, awarding volunteers with gifts for going above and beyond the call of duty, and awarding the Dan Miedema Award For Community Service to Kimberly Bouvette.
SNA was proud to host another Spring clean-up in our neighbourhood on April 25th. The event saw over 40 volunteers from the community come out to help make our streets beautiful. Thank you so much for your support! We all enjoyed the perfect weather for the occasion, setting out at 12:30 PM and returning at 2:30 for some well deserved taco salad.
Mirror My Message
On July 15th SNA's Violence Prevention Project hosted a culminating event at th eMAgnus Eliason rec Centre. The idea for the event was created by the youth participating in the project. Mirrors were made featuring inspirational messages so that event participants could take selfies (self portraits) and post them to #mirrormymessage to raise awareness for the program and violence prevention methods
SNA Block Party
SNA had the pleasure of hosting the SNA Block Party with Aboriginal Music Maniotba. In total we fed over 1000 people who came from all over the city! We made crafts such as possitive message flags, dreamcatchers and magnets/pins for the youth. This year we had artisans selling wares on the grounds as well. We listening to amazing indigenous artists today had a great time!
